Meet Shary

Shary Parra, LMSW, (she/her)
Facilitator

Shary is an Afro-Latina by way of la República Dominicana, born and raised in NYC. As a licensed social worker with over a decade of experience, she centers her work around closing gaps that best support and meet the mental health needs of Black and Brown communities.

She holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Spanish from Union College, a master’s in Social Work from New York University, and is certified in Diversity and Inclusion through Cornell University. Using her educational background, combined with lived experiences, Shary uses trauma-informed best practices to meet folks where they’re at and support them along their healing journey.

Shary founded Work with SNP, a consulting company that cultivates educational healing spaces at the intersection of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging (DEIB), and mental health where each person feels seen, heard, and validated. When she’s not helping historically underrepresented communities heal, she’s healing herself by spending time in nature, preferably in large bodies of water.
